OH--4 New Boxes & a Q

From: Debra Nickles (artndeb@horizonview.net) | Date: 2004-08-16 23:08:23 UTC-04:00
Question: When I typed in my clues for these boxes, I was asked if I'd like to post a "link"; why didn't the link appear on the clues page?

Boxes (HockingHills, OH):

Falstaff
Fortinbras
Friar Lawrence
Flute

Greetings,
The "link" is to automatically send everyone to the clues on your
website, if you wish to do so. Leave it blank and the clues will show
on the LbNA website.

Thanks for getting back with me so quickly catbead.
But, actually, the directions appear like this:

Link: _____________________
Redirect to this link automatically? ___
If not, box will appear on LbNa created page and link will be available on
that page.

So, I placed a link (which gave info about the State Park I hid in); left
the "redirect" area blank; and yet, the link did not appear available on my
LbNa clue page . . .

Curious.

Yes, that is to redirect to the letterbox clues on your own webpage.
For example I have all my boxes on my own website, so when you click
on my boxes you are automatically taken there.

If you were to put the park link in the "link" box (without the
http://) then anyone wanting the clues for your box will end up at the
park's website.

If you want to put a link to the state park, then the best place to do
it would be in your clues. I think if the http:// part _is_ included
then the link will be active...but I could be wrong.

Ummmmm . . . so the second Q, where it asks you if you would like to
redirect automatically, is the essential step.

I agree, putting the addy in the main body of the clues may be the best way
to go.

Again, thanks for your kind attention in this matter.
